Spoon & Fork is a restaurant renovation on The Queensway in Etobicoke. Retained to rework both the facade and interior, our approach focused on correcting the building’s relationship to the street while establishing a clear architectural identity for the restaurant.

The existing bermed entry was replaced with a sequence of elongated entry steps leading to a tall, legible entrance. A deep canopy and illuminated lantern element mark the threshold and are visible from The Queensway, announcing the restaurant at an urban scale. The facade was unified through a continuous stucco finish across the full elevation, creating visual consistency and a more disciplined street presence.

Inside, the design pairs spatial openness with layered detail. Long glass panels, custom hollow wooden light fixtures imported from Italy, and large-format artwork establish depth and atmosphere. A central chandelier composed of spoons, forks, and knives anchors the dining room, reinforcing the restaurant’s identity through material and form.

The project was featured at Dine by Design and published by World Architecture News, recognizing the transformation of a dated commercial shell into a distinctive hospitality environment.
